Bear with me; I’m not sentimentalizing or heart-string playing.

Being aborted is an infrigement of your rights, even if you are too young to call your laywer, and even if—- gosh darn it—- you’re come at an inconvenient time in your parent’s life. Killing other inconvenients such as invalids and retarded babies is right out. State executions are a bit greyer, but erring on the side of caution won’t hurt. Also, killing people to harvest organs or tissue for medicinal or research purposes impedes the killee’s right to life in a fashion akin to human sacrifice.

Liberty…

I include personal liberty (e.g. civil unions between two old widows, a young gay couple, or a daughter and her aunt), the liberty to own guns, the liberty to get high and or drunk, and financial liberty to control when and how you (a) save and (b) philander. Note these do not include the right to get high, take your gun into the club, and do the rock-away before waving it in some thug’s face. Don’t forget religious freedom; very important.

...and the pursuit of Happiness.

I’ve run out of steam; can’t think of anything here that isn’t already listed. All of this has been off the top of my head, and focused on domestic issues. I don’t yet have a coherent, non-partisan way of thinking about foreign policy, but I do like Thomas Barnett new map

Anyhow, all this occured to me after the election. If someone put up a candidate against abortion, for tax-reform, against the drug war, and for civil unions, they would have my vote fast as Hello Kitty
