The days are bright and cool, reaching into the 50s. For now the trees are bare and the grass is brown and the streets are quiet, but Summer is coming on. Each weekend the tidal inflow of tourists reaches a little bit higher. This is spring.

On Easter I took a day trip to Fort Adams. I wandered around the dead, brown park, happy for time with nature and without people. Me and a few other early risers were out poking around.

Most of them saw that the fort wouldn’t be open till mid April and drove off, but not without a picture stop at the Eisenhower House.
