After his death, the heirs to the estate discovered his unpublished work, which included such cryptic works as “Push Button, Wipe Hands on Pants”—now regarded as an early classic of ribald literature—and the brief but poignant “Stops Automatically,” which modern scholars believe is the most succinct expression of existential resignation ever written.
