Burnin Man Planning Update · Jul 16, 12:28 PM

Internally, I organize plans for Burning Man in a three-stage waterfal model:

  1. Event Logistics
  2. Desert Survival
  3. Art

The logistics planning phase is nearly complete. I have:

  1. decided to go
  2. purchased event tickets
  3. booked flights out and back on 27 Aug. and 07 Sept.
  4. reserved an SUV for local intra-city travel
  5. reserved pre/post-burn lodging

Total expenditure to date—approximately USD 1000. A portion of the SUV expenses may be offloaded onto travel companions. I expect another several hundred dollars will be spent on survivial and participation (art): rebar, tarps, and other camp supplies; food, film, and other perishable goods; clothes, art and personal gear; and glowy illuminators (chemical and electronic).

The verdict: Tom is crazy. He’s off his rocker. Elvis has left the building. Do not pass go. Void where prohibited. Consult your physician before use.
