I’m not experienced; I don’t know what Burning Man is, but I’m left explaining the event to anyone I tell anything more than “a desert camping trip.”

There’s the official home of Burning Man online, but it’s badly disorganized and a bit much for the casual reader. Still, their FAQ. Wikipedia has an entry for Burning Man. I haven’t read it.

Waldemar at Fotki has a work-safe Burning Man 2003 gallery.

He also has a gallery from 2004.

Brad Templeton wrote up a good what is Burning Man essay, his photo essays span many of the different kinds of sights to see. If you at work, in a libary, or otherwise motivated to avoid nudity on film, stick to the following pages.
