The Disciplined Trader · Nov 28, 11:51 AM

“One thing you will learn as a trader is that the mental resources you use to get what you want in your everyday life will not work in the trading environment.”

Mark Douglas makes very few points in The Disciplined Trader. He believes markets are not random and efficient, but irrational, with human decisions and emotions creating price action. Buyers expect price to raise just as sellers at the same point expect the price to fall, and one of them is bound to be wrong. He discusses the psychological environment of the market. He argues that traders must consciously effect certain changes in their beliefs and psychology in order to trade profitably in the long run. Those are his points.
