I left for Wuyuan to escape the May holiday crowd, but have joined it instead, thanks very much to my friend Xiaoshi. He’s been helping me out and getting Chinese prices. This morning our party left for a scenic gorge, and we have returned to Wuyuan to find the 2:30 bus back to Jiujiang full, so we leave at 5:30 instead, which gets us back at 9:30 (only three of us are returning to Jiujiang). And our tickets were specially overpriced just for the holiday, too.
Summer is coming on, and I’ve had a lot of sun. Every day is hot, sweaty, and crowded. At least when the holiday ends the crowds will recede a bit.
