San Francisco (August 22) · Oct 11, 09:41 PM

I spent an hour or three on the phone yesterday, dropping a line to say hello and then also working a ride to Reno. I’m leaving tomorrow with Michelle from the UK—she’s with the Flaming Lotus Girls this year, the group that brough out the Angel of the Apocalypse last year. This year they are doing something with fire and metal called Serpent Mother.

I slept in this morning, then burned and mailed home photo DVDs, and had breakfast at Joes on 24th. It was pretty rotten. In the afternoon I confirmed my ride to Reno and met Jesse and Amalia—they came home early today. At seven we left for a game of pick-up soccer they regularly go to. Jesse quit as soon as a seventh player arrived so I could walk him through the Aunkai exercises I picked up in Tokyo. At nine we moved to Zeitgeist to meet an assorted gang of friends and celebrate Jesse’s birthday. It was a good time with burgers, beer, and the assorted gang of San Francisco-ians you might expect, with a burner or two among them.
