I only slept for about an hour, but Michelle and Shoe are good conversation. We stopped a couple of times for gass because the 1977 camper has got a small tank. There was a running-out-of-gas scare near Donner Lake. We all got cold crossing the mountains into Reno and bundled up for the high-altitude bits. We arrived at Hagey’s place around six to find everyone getting up. Irish kindly blasted AC/DC to get things moving. People are sleeping on all the couches and on the floor in the garage and everywhere else, too. It’s good to see burner friends again: Hagey, Irish, Kiwi, Hidive, Paul, Jamey, and all the others who will show up or drop in over the next two days — Dougaldutch, Dominique, Be’av, Beau, X-Ray, the two girls from Tokyo, Jo, and plenty of people I’m forgetting to remember. There are new people, too, like Geitien from Wisconsin who basically made my rebar. Brad was cooking for everyone.

I hung around, chatted, sat on couches, and eventually went food shopping with Kiwi and some others from the early setup crew. They are heading out to the playa tomorrow morning. After shopping and dinner and a surprisingly late-into-the-night, I crashed out on a couch.
