Yay! Christmas! · Dec 29, 12:30 AM

Boy that was a whirlwind of ducks!! And thanks to Christmas, I’m now listening to:

I found all the albums that have titles starting with the letter “O” in a pile of pitchfork.com reviews. Ta-Dah? Well, you know… *expansive hand gesture* …family.

So I had a really good time visiting the Florida. Flights on time, never any heaving traffic anywhere I went, and a really good time with warm weather. All four of my grandparents showed up for Christmas day, which is pretty special; I had Chinese silks for all the ladies and calligraphy for mom, dad, and the grand-parents. They were milking me for Adventures In China. I didn’t bring up any of the anecdotes where I got drunk. Chinese hard liquor is such brutal stuff. Not Recommended.

One of my last single friends was married at a diverse wedding on the day after Christmas: the affair was two parts Scotch, half Philippine, the other half Italian, and a couple hundred hours of World-of-Warcraft. Along the way I ran into a person whom everyone but me knew: Ed, who dated Nikki before I. I could recall nothing about him (this is high school history… I try not to dwell on the memories, and they have compliantly faded) except sitting across the table from him and Nikki at Herbie K’s; oblivious was my middle name. He exited the picture shortly, and that was all I ever knew I would ever know. Secretly, the Dr. Livingston—recently married—had been cultivating a long, close friendship with the man, much to my intrigue and pleasant delight.

That paragraph—this post—is pretty awful. I’m embarrassed at the memory of writing it (especially at the word choice and sentence design), but far too embarrassed to even re-read the sloppy thing. I’ll hold my eyes tight and single-click on the publish button. At least the background music is nice.
