On the fourth of July I beat the giant floating baby with three arms that shoots lightning balls and finished Half-Life. One of the previous millenium’s best FPS games. The levels made sense. There was a little black humor, a lot of plot, and a lot shooting up the bad guys. At the end I fell in love with the bee-shooter that shoots homing alien bees.
Now I’m onto Psychonauts. It’s very bizarre, and reminds me of Invader Zim. The setting: a psychic summer camp for you a a bunch of misfit freak kids like Dogen, the dumpy dim-witted little squat guy who explodes people’s heads so he wears a tinfoil hat to keep that from happening now. So far: surreal, very cute, and nominally a kid’s game, but psychotically edgy. I’ve just astral projected into my own mind, so I’m not very far along, but I’m really looking forward to seeing where that rabbit hole goes.
BTW, I’m learning the hard way not to read about games I’m haven’t played out online. Stupid spoilers.

What platforms do you play on? There are a few games that you may want to fit into the summer.
— Ed Jul 12, 01:28 AM #It’s embarrassing: my Dell Inspiron 600m. Which has a tendency to overheat in the summer and self down-shift to about 500 MHz, so any game goes one. frame. at. a. time.
I might pick up a console system, but I don’t think I’d use it enough to be worth it.
